EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCE WITH CARINTHIA UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES IN AUSTRIA

Within the framework of the “Erasmus +” international mobility program, five-day lectures were held within the scope of cooperation between National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia and Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Austria.

The courses were conducted by Elisabeth Wiegele and Philip Wehbe, lecturers at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Austria. Undergraduate senior year students and graduate students of NUACA Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Design, Faculty of Management and Technology and Faculty of Urban Economy and Ecology, as well as representatives of the academic staff took part in the courses. The lectures were delivered in English, and our students showed a high level of activity.

The topics of the lectures were nature conservation in construction sites, protection of ecosystems, structural optimization and material savings. The lectures were followed by discussions in Q&A format.

Working meetings were also held with NUACA Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs M. Barseghyan, Vice-Rector for International Relations V. Yedoyan, Dean of the Faculty of Construction A. Sahakyan, and Heads of chairs and laboratories.

A number of important issues were discussed within the framework of the cooperation, including a one-semester study visit of 4 students from the Faculty of Construction to Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Austria in the next academic year, as well as the ways of organizing joint scientific conferences and seminars and implementing joint scientific-research projects.

The lecturers of Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Austria expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the University’s management and students for participating in the courses with great interest.

Both sides expressed hope that the cooperation will be continuous, covering areas of mutual interest.
