NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

With great sorrow we inform you that Ruben Sergey Arutchyan, Honorary Painter of the Republic of Armenia, Associate Professor of the Chair of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, member of the World’s Armenian Painters’ Union, passed away.

Mr. Arutchyan was the Chief Painter of the Fine Arts Factory of Armenia Art Foundation in 1986-1990. From 1987 to 2012 Mr. Arutchyan was a Board member of Artists’ Union of Armenia, from 1995 – a member of the International Association of Designers. In 1990-1992 and in 2001 Mr. Arutchyan was the Chief Painter of Yerevan, in 2001- the Head of the Department of External Design of the Municipality of Yerevan, the Chief Painter of the City, since 2011 – a member of the World’s Armenian Painters’ Union. In 2004 he authored the Coat of Arms of the RA Ministry of Defense, in 2006 – the monument dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide in Yerevan Circular Park. Since 2015 – a lecturer at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.

The management of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, the entire academic staff and students deeply mourn the loss of the RA Honorary Painter Ruben Arutchyan, extending their condolences to his family and friends.

The memorial service will take place on January 17, at 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the “Memorial” mourning hall (Erebuni administrative district, 14/4 Aivazovsky Street).

The farewell ceremony will take place on January 18, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the building of the Artists’ Union of Armenia (Address: 16 Abovyan Street).
