YURI HOVHANNISYAN’S VISIT TO NUACA

The Presidency Session of the Engineering Academy of Armenia was held at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, which was also attended by the world-renowned Armenian scientist, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Hovhannisyan. The President of the Engineering Academy of Armenia, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Vice-President of the International Engineering Academy Sergey Minasyan announced that the world-renowned physicist Yuri Hovhannisyan was awarded with the title of “Honorary Academician of the Engineering Academy of Armenia” and handed over the Academy Diploma and the highest award – the gold medal.

            During the Session, members of the Presidency – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Ashot Khachatryan, Director of the “ArmAtom” Scientific-Research Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Vahram Petrosyan and General Director of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant Eduard Martirosyan delivered speeches on the activities of Yuri Hovhannisyan.

            NUACA Secretary of the Scientific Council Levon Levonyan welcomed the guests and noted: “We are glad that we hosted the world-renowned physicist Yuri Hovhannisyan at our University. Everyone knows that one of the new elements in Mendeleev’s Periodic Table is named after our compatriot Yuri Hovhannisyan (Oganesson). This visit is memorable in the history of our University and will certainly motivate our young generation to have new achievements in the field of science.”

            Yuri Hovhannisyan extended his gratitude for the hospitality and warm welcome, noting that it was very gratifying for him to be at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, as his dream had been to become an architect; at a young age, he entered the Moscow Institute of Architecture, but did not continue his education in that direction.
