YEREVAN SPEAKS, BREATHES AND CREATES FRENCH

The events planned within the framework of the 17th summit of the International Organization of the Francophone (OIF) have been launched in Yerevan on October 7. Besides the political agenda, it is also rich in cultural, economic and a number of related events. Note that as a logo of the 17th Francophone Summit in Yerevan, the pomegranate was chosen as a mark of the peace and prosperity of the entire Francophone territory.

Yesterday in the center of Yerevan the «Francophone Town” was opened and will be open until October 12 within the framework of Francophone Summit, where the participating countries present their lifestyle and culture.

Today Gagik Galstyan, Rector of the Armenian National University of Architecture and Construction and Emma Harutyunyan, head of the chair of theory of architecture, restoration and reconstruction of historical-architectural heritage, fine arts and history, were also hosted at the “Francophone Town”. Rector Galstyan considered this one week in Yerevan very important, beautiful and memorable, bringing together different cultures and solidarity among the French-speaking countries. In the context of the Franco-Armenian university cooperation, Emma Harutyunyan emphasized the active and multilateral collaboration between the Armenian National University of Architecture and Construction and French Universities. Talking about Eco-Architecture Mrs. Harutyunyan mentioned that the developments in this topic are related to the cooperation between our University and the Lyon Architecture School launched in 2007.Continuing the topic of Eco-Architecture, Mrs. Harutyunyan pointed out the International Armenian-French-Italian Conference and Exhibition on “The national land build heritage. Land as a material for the development of Armenian regions» organized in Yerevan in 2015, expressing gratitude to the lecturer, architect and our compatriot Susan Monno, who is at the center of cooperation between our university and the Lyon Architectural School.

Then all the other programs implemented as a result of the Armenian-French University cooperation, mutual visits of lecturers and students and joint projects were presented.
