Today the International Summer School of Theoretical Physics has been launched at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.
The Minister of Education Arayik Harutyunyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia H.E. Mr. Bernhard Matthias Kiesler also attended the solemn opening ceremony of the International Summer School and addressed their welcome speeches.
In greeting the participants of the summer school Minister Harutyunyan stressed the importance of the organization of such conferences and seminars in our country. The Minister noted that the organization of international scientific and educational events will be always under the attention of the new Government receiving its support. The Minister confessed that the unification of higher education and science in one place is in the agenda of the Ministry.
It should be noted that the Armenian Aid Foundation, the Armenian National Foundation for Education and Science, the International Center for Theoretical Physics of UNESCO, the Regional PhD Program of Elementary Particle Physics operating under the funding of the “Volkswagen” Foundation are the organizers of the International Summer School of Theoretical Physics scheduled from 2 to 7 July. The Summer School on Theoretical Physics is aimed at transmitting new knowledge on mathematical and Theoretical Physics to young scientists and students through lectures and discussions. The Summer School has brought to our university 50 Master’s degree, PhD and Science researchers and scholars from Armenia, Iran, Georgia, Turkey, Russia, the Ukraine, Brazil and Greece.
The Unit 1 of the Summer School, which will be followed by short discussions, will be conducted by Elias Kiritsisse from the University of Crete, Herbert Drayner from the University of Bonn, Daniel Voldram from the Imperial College of London and Karapet Mkrtchyan of the Potsdam Institute after Albert Einstein.
