THE INNOVATIVE IDEA OF OUR STUDENTS WAS ACKNOWLEDGED AS A WINNER

The Innovation and Business Support Center of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia is an open space for all young people, students and professors contributing to the creation and development of innovative ideas. The center offers a comfortable environment for innovative strartups and groups to develop their ideas thus contributing to the creation, realization and marketing of innovative ideas.

Designer Gayane Hakobyan under the supervision of Lilit Umedyan and with the help of her team including students from the Faculty of Informatics Henrik Sergoyan and the Faculty of Economics Tatev Danielyan presented her diploma work, the device  called a “bask cleaner” at the Support Center for Innovation and Business.

The main function of the “bask cleaner” device is the removal of floating garbage from the surface of the water basins and pools. The device looks like  the mouth of a great shark. On both sides there are cracks that work like those of the shark gills from which pure water comes out of the device. One of the peculiarities of the device is that it works via solar energy.

From June 30 to July 1 the device was promoted in the Climate Tech Impactaim Accelerator hackathon jointly organized by the UNDP Forest and Field Fire Control Program and the Center for Innovative Solutions and Technologies. It was the first hackathon of its kind organized in Armenia that was directed at creating innovative solutions to withstand the challenges of forests and agricultural domains emerging as a result of climate change.

The works at the hackathon were presented in 3 nominations: “The best solution for forestry”, “The best solution for agriculture” and “The most innovative idea”.
