NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

University with a 100-Year History

THE GROUNDS OF  THE ARMENIAN – BRITISH ARCHITECTURAL COOPERATION WERE ESTABLISHED

Today the representative of the British architectural organization “Pilbrow & Partners” Goran Shepherd and the founder and director of the architectural organization “Quilligan International Architects” Paul Quilligan paid a visit to the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.

The British delegation was hosted by the NUACA Rector Gagik Galstyan, the Chief Architect of Yerevan Tigran Barseghyan, Chief Architect of the Holy See Ara Vardanyan, vice-rectors, deans and heads of chairs.

The visit of the guests to our University was arranged by the British Embassy in Armenia. Embassy staff and British architects have made a study visit this time, but they were sure that soon the opportunity for cooperation will born.

In a brief presentation of the activities of their organization Mrs. Shepherd noted that they were generally involved in urban planning and have a team of architects working on the projects in Great Britain and overseas.

In response to the question “In which frameworks do you see our cooperation”? asked by the representatives of our university, Mrs. Shepherd answered that in the initial phase it would be better to exchange with consultancy services until they were fully introduced with the architectural particularities of the city towards the organization of joint projects.

After the mutual exchange of contacts, both sides were certain that the Armenian-British collaboration will be established in both academic and architectural fields.
