NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

And who said that the student camps can be interesting and warm only during hot summer? Our students can plan their leisure time full of educational, cultural and unforgettable meetings during winter, as well. 

On the 25th to 28th January, “Winter camping of young engineers” was held for the first time in Tsaghkadzor. Since the winter camping days coincided with the 28th anniversary of Armenian Army, 8 detachments of 70 students of our university were named after Artsakh War detachments. 

At this time campers also performed in the framework of intellectual and cultural events, competed in sport contest and met with director of social service of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Fr. Markos Mangasaryan. Campers discussed with him the topic of “Family and Christianity as self-expression of patriotism” and also met film crew of “Im Khach” movie. 

The days were filled with patriotic and victory vibes, thus it was impossible to imagine camping entertainment without meeting heroes. Our students discussed “Nagorno-Karabakh conflict” with the hero Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan (Komandos) and the participants of Four-day April War. They talked over actions and positions of different times regarding the same problem. 

Perhaps, one of the most interesting part of the camping was the workshop “One step forward to smarter and developed university”, during which the detachments suggested new ideas and introduced their structures and processes. 

Academic staff headed by Acting Rector Yeghiazar Vardanyan attended to the closing event of “Winter camping of young engineers”, as well. Before reflecting on the workshop and camping results, he addressed to students: “Let’s announce the beginning of events of the University’s 100th anniversary and from now on we can proudly mention at all events that we are a part of a 100 years old university”. 

Already overwhelmed with pride, the detachments who achieved best results during summer camping days as well as “Best student of faculty”, “Best faculty student council” and “Best socially active student” of 2019 were announced. 

Thus, by the number of the points earned, 3rd place was taken by detachment named after Karot Mkrtchyan, 2nd place was taken by detachment named after Arabo and 1st place was taken by detachment named after Aghbyur Serob.  

And the following winners were proclaimed during University’s award ceremony: the winner of “Best student of Faculty” was Hayk Dheryan from the Faculty of Architecture, Samvel Sargsyan from the Faculty of Construction, Mery Torgomyan from the Faculty of Design, Khachatur Khachatryan from the Faculty of Urban Economy and Ecology and Satenik Hayrapetyan from the Faculty of Management and Technology. The winner of “Best Faculty Student Council” was the Faculty of Design and the winners of “Best socially active student” were Sona Petrosyan and Lusine Hovhannisyan from the Faculty of Urban Economy and Ecology.
