University with a 100-Year History

ROSTELECOM ARMENIA AND NUACA SIGNED A “MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION”, STRENGTHENING IT WITH THE LAUNCH OF ROSTELECOM “CLOUD VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SERVICE” AT THE UNIVERSITY

Recently, the Rector of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia Yeghiazar Vardanyan and the General Director of Rostelecom Armenia Hayk Faramazyan have signed a “Memorandum of Cooperation”.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties agreed to ensure the involvement of specialists in educational and work processes, joint organization of seminars and other events, joint development of educational-methodical materials, organization of internships and business meetings for university students, financing of scholarships, involvement of the best students in the organization as employees, and development of more effective formats of joint cooperation. The Memorandum was signed on the basis of important principles of trust, responsibility and mutual respect.

At the beginning of the Event, a tour of the University took place accompanied by the Rector. The guests got acquainted with the University environment, walked through the exhibition hall of the Faculty of Design, where the best student works were presented. After that, a number of new generation digital devices were presented, which allow to carry out geodetic work with high accuracy, as well as to display construction projects to the client in virtual reality using special VR glasses and to make design changes on the spot if necessary.

The signing of the Memorandum was strengthened by the launch of Rostelecom “Cloud Video Surveillance Service” at the University. It provides a wide range of functionality, including secure saving of video recordings in cloud storage, which excludes the possibility of exposure to various external influences on video recordings.

Within the framework of the service, Rostelecom Armenia offers an unprecedented opportunity: personalized video analysis based on the customer’s needs taking into account gender, age, body temperature, identification of vehicle registration  plates and other criteria, which enables the use of activity data in the video surveillance area for more effective management.
The installation and adjustment of cameras carried out by the Company, 24/7 service, availability of a modern and convenient application and archive storage up to 14 days make the service exclusive in the Armenian market.

“Rostelecom Armenia is one of the best operators in the industry, and it is no coincidence that we decided to implement a project with you which allows to listen to lectures any time to identify the best teaching practices and methods of our lecturers. I attach great importance to the other component of this Project: security. We always focus on creating a safe environment for our students and employees, and in this context, the Project implemented with Rostelecom Armenia is very important. One of the priorities of our University is to improve the quality of education using information technology, and we are following the path of digitization. We have already digitized a part of our educational process and now we are moving to a full digitization.

I am confident that in the future we will have new projects with Rostelecom Armenia that will contribute to the development of both our students and academic staff, as well as the development of the Company,” noted NUACA Rector Yeghiazar Vardanyan.

“Today the beginning of an extremely important cooperation has been marked, which not only has the format of providing services to the partner, but is also the beginning of long-term and multilateral partnerships. The signed Memorandum is an extremely important strategic step for both Rostelecom Armenia and National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. This format of cooperation will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the development of information technologies, based on mutual exchange of best practices.

We are introducing the unique “Cloud Video Surveillance Service” of the market at the University, which is another revolutionary step by Rostelecom ahead of the development of cloud technologies in Armenia. I would also like to mention that Rostelecom is building the largest Data Processing Center in Armenia, where cloud services will play a key role – this will become our next step towards the development of information technologies. We are confident that the cooperation with the University will continue in this context as well,” noted the General Director of Rostelecom Armenia Hayk Faramazyan.

At the end of the event, the parties congratulated each other on the envisaged long-term and effective cooperation.
