The regular summer school of NUACA Association of Young Researchers was held in Aghveran, which was jointly funded by the Higher Education and Science Committee and NUACA.
The agenda of the Event included reports from post-graduate students and applicants on their research, seminar-discussions and lectures on various aspects of scientific research, a team game-competition on developing concepts of dual purpose research in an interprofessional format, debates, etc.
Members of the Union, post-graduate students, applicants, representatives of the academic staff, and about two dozen students representing all faculties of the University participated in the Event.
On behalf of the University Rector Manuk Barseghyan, Head of the Science Department of the University, Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Sargis Tovmasyan welcomed and wished the participants of the Summer School fruitful work, expressing hope that the Event will bring together young people interested in different fields of science.
Head of the Union Mesrop Sahakyan and Members of the Union talked about the current and upcoming unification programs, as well as about using the potential of young researchers with different specialties to implement interdisciplinary research. They also talked about the need to use social platforms to solve these problems and to create an information database on research conducted at the University and abroad
PhD students and applicants Suren Malumyan, Khachik Chkolyan, Narine Hakobyan, Tigran Manukyan, Davit Hakobyan, Mariam Kocharyan and Lusine Yeghiyan came up with reports on their research progress and upcoming projects. Spartak Sargsyan and Karen Movsisyan, who recently defended their PhD theses, came up with reports, presenting the main points of their theses. Nairi Hakobyan, who completed her graduate degree this year, also came up with a separate report.
Within the framework of the internal grant program provided by NUACA, Mesrop Sahakyan, Lusine Yeghiyan, Mariam Kocharyan and student Arevik Nazaryan presented the work already completed and future activities within the framework of the topic “Development of a Methodology for Creating a Database of Multi-Apartment Residential Buildings Using the Example of a Separate Residential Sector”.
The agenda of the Event also included lectures on topics of interdisciplinary interest. Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Tigran Dadayan, PhD in Philosophical Sciences Ashot Gevorgyan, and PhDs in Architecture David Nahatakyan and Anna Vardanyan delivered lectures.
All reports were accompanied by Q&As, active discussions and exchange of ideas, in which the students also actively participated.
The agenda also included the organization of a team game-competition based on an interdisciplinary principle to develop concepts for dual-purpose scientific research. As a result of the participants’ voting, the “360º” team was recognized as the winner of the Competition on the topic “Development of a Methodology for the Implementation of Dual-Purpose Camp-Shelters Based on the Example of Syunik Marz” (participants: Yeghiyan Lusine, Malumyan Suren, Martirosyan Lilit, Tovmasyan Kristine, Jaghinyan Nelly, consultant: Nahatakyan David).
The activities of the Summer School were summarized with discussions about its results and an exchange of ideas about the future activities. The participants expressed their satisfaction with the Event, expressing their wish that similar events be organized at the University, involving a wider range of students.
At the end of the Event, Sargis Tovmasyan extended his gratitude to all the participants of the Event for their effective work and active discussions, expressing hope that the cooperation in the field of scientific research will be continuous.
