OUR STUDENT TOOK THE SECOND PLACE AT “IT-ПЛАНЕТА 2020/21” (“IT-PLANET 2020/21”) INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIAD

Slavik Kaytsakov, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Management and Technology of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, was among the 9 participants representing Armenia in the finals of the XIII International Olympiad “IT-Planet 2020/21” in the field of information technology.

The International Olympiad “IT-Planet 2020/21”, aimed at revealing and supporting talented students with practical knowledge, and young IT specialists, was attended by 17.500 students, aged 16-27, from Higher and Secondary Vocational Education Institutions, as well as PhD students and graduates.

Our finalist presented his project with Sevak Sargsyan, a student of the Russian-Armenian University, and took second honorable place in the “Ecology of Life” category of the “Unlimited Opportunities” competition.

“The topic we presented was special due to its novelty; similar research has been conducted in Japan, but our project was different as the device would generate electricity from people’s steps and rainwater, so, we will obtain eco-friendly electricity,” said Sergey Kaytsakov.

Marine Grigoryan, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Technology emphasizes the importance of student participation in such Olympiads, as it promotes the professional development of students. In her speech she extended her gratitude to Karen Petrosyan, Assistant at the Chair of Informatics, Computer Science and Management, for his support to students during the Olympiad and prompt response to problems.

The winners of the Olympiad were granted the opportunity to have an industrial internship with the prospect of job offer by the competition partners in the future.
