INFORMATION EVENT ON “INCREASING STUDENTS’ CAREER ADVANCEMENT AND EMPLOYABILITY” WAS HELD

The information event of the Erasmus +  ALL4R&D project on “Increasing Students’ Career Advancement and Employability” was held at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.

The Erasmus + project “Promoting Academia-Industry Alliances for R&D through Collaborative and Open Innovation Platform (All4R&D)” was launched in 2018 and lasted 36 months (2018-2021), however given the situation with COVID-19 pandemic it was extended until November of the current year.

Project participants are the universities and organizations from Armenia, Macedonia, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, Austria and France.

The All4R&D project is aimed at facilitating the transfer of research, innovation, knowledge and technology in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Armenia, through the promotion of strategic, scientific-educational and business cooperation.

At the beginning of the information event, Robert Sukiasyan, NUACA Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, made a welcoming speech, followed by Lana Karlova, Coordinator of National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia, and representatives of All4R&D Armenian partner universities and organizations – Mher Markosyan (Director of YeTRI ), Gevorg Margarov (NPUA Head of the Chair of Information Security and Software Provision) and Hrachya Astsatryan (Director of the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA). During the event, Gohar Avetisyan, NUACA Coordinator of the All4R&D Erasmus + project, presented the steps undertaken by NUACA within the framework of the project, in particular, the “Seismicity Research and Development Unit” was established in March-April, 2019; a business plan for the above-mentioned unit-laboratory has been developed, while the strategic plan is currently under development. Equipment has been acquired, and NUACA project team members have conducted courses of the research and development unit as part of supplementary and continuing education, in particular: a) “Reconstruction of Buildings and their Earthquake Resistance”, b) “Entrepreneurship for Engineers”, c) “Strategic Management”, d) “Energy Efficiency in Sustainable Construction”, e) “Organization of Construction Monitoring”, and “Internet of Things”. NUACA Research and Development Unit is currently implementing two research projects, coordinated by NUACA Chair of Building Structures and the Yerevan Telecommunications Research Institute.

Afterwards, about 42 students from National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, National Polytechnic University of Armenia, the European University of Armenia and Armenian State University of Economics were awarded with certificates of participation in the supplementary and continuing education courses implemented within the framework of the project.

At the end of the event, memorandums of cooperation were signed with NUACA Research and Development Unit and organizations in the field of business and production, including “Markel” CJSC, “Arni” LLC, “Innovative Education” Foundation and “Avangard Shin Concern”.
