AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF JAPAN WAS OUR GUEST

Today Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Armenia Eiji Taghuchi  paid a visit to the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia and conferred with Rector Gagik Galstyan. The visit, which was aimed at finding possible edges of cooperation, was initiated by our University.

NUACA vice-rectors Marina Ghazaryan and Vardges Yedoyan, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Armen Shatvoryan, Dean of the Faculty of Construction Davit Grigoryan and the Secretary of the NUACA Scientific Council Levon Levonyan were also present at the meeting.

Welcoming Ambassador Eiji Taguchi, Gagik Galstyan presented the main directions of our University, partnership ties with the other universities of different countries, as well as the conferences. Rector talked about the cooperation with China, hopeful that in the future collaboration ties will also be established with Japan

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the kindest invitation, noting that he highly appreciated cooperation in the sphere of education and exchange of experience. He admitted, that despite he was not acquainted with the Armenian architecture, the traces of not only the Armenian Architecture but also the spirit of the architectural heritage of the region do exist in Armenia

Ambassador Taghuchi gifted our University the work of a Japanese professor and expert devoted to the architecture of our region.

It was resumed that the maiden meeting, vitalized by the exchange of mutual gifts, exchange of ideas on the peculiarities of the Armenian and Japanese educational systems, obtained awareness about the the fields of architecture and construction in two countries, was the launch of bilateral cooperation. The Ambassador expressed his readiness to support possible collaboration between the Armenian and Japanese universities, schools of architecture and construction, student and faculty exchange programmes.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Taguchi was toured at our University, visited our laboratories, workshops and studios, and expressed his true admiration.
