Today professors from MEF and Kadir Has universities of Turkey were at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. The visit was organized within the framework of the Turkey-Armenia Dialogue Project implemented by the “Hrant Dink” Foundation in collaboration with the “Gyumri Youth Initiative Center” and with the support of the British Government’s Conflict, Sustainability and Security Foundation.
Associate Professor of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of MEF, Ozan Avci, presented the Design and Development Workshop of the University of MEF and the possibility of cooperation between the MEF and NUACA. The speaker mentioned that within the framework of the MEF Design and Development Studio, first year students and lecturers will design and build together for social purposes.
It should be noted that today the lecture of Associate Professor of the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture of the University of Meff, Ahmet Sezgin is also planned, on “Perspectives of understanding Sinan architect and his legacy” and lecture by Ayse Erek, Associate Professor of the Department of Art and Design at Kadir Has University, on “Contemporary Art and Urban Areas in Turkey”.
Let’s remind, reciprocal visits and lectures between the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia and the MEF University of Istanbul have been launched since last year by the ”Hrant Dink” Foundation.
First, within the framework of cooperation with “Hrant Dink” Foundation and “Gyumri Youth Initiative Center”, members of our university visited Turkey, visited historic sites, schools, museums, and MEF University in Istanbul, where they delivered lectures on architecture. During that visit, students from our university, together with six Turkish students, designed and then implemented the project of the Armenian kindergarten playground which is under the patronage of the Armenian Church in Istanbul.
