University with a 100-Year History
From 6 to 10 March professor at the NUACA Chair of Urban Planning Gurgen Musheghyan and the associate professor and acting head of the NUACA Chair of Theory of Architecture, Restoration and Reconstruction of Historical and Architectural Heritage, Fine Arts and History Emma Harutyunyan visited Clermont-Ferrand National Higher School of Architecture in France. The delegation of our University visited France for participation in IACOBUS international student workshops and for delivering lectures.
The working days were filled with comprehensive lectures of professor Musheghyan as well as with implemented research works and discussions. On the first day of the meeting G. Musheghyan presented the history and architectural heritage of outstanding constructions of the period of Soviet Modernism of Armenia for the wide audience of students and lectures arrived from Germany, France and Spain promoting the great interest of the attendees.
The next days of the meetings were devoted to the historical premise of the former monastery of Billom town in France. The arrived eleven student groups of three countries within the IACOBUS project conducted research and land surveying works on the given area and came up with their initial ideas on the revitalization of the structures. Then, under the leadership of French, German, Spanish and Armenian lecturers, the primary projects of students have been nominated for examination. The defence of the works will take place in May of this year in Germany, where Emma Harutyunyan will also be present.
It is also important to emphasize the fact that 6 students and a lecturer from our University will also take part in IACOBUS international student project scheduled in Germany in March of 2018.
