VICTORIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF “NUACA CUP 2024’’ BLITZ CHESS TOURNAMENT

“NAUCA Cup 2024” Blitz Chess Tournament ended. Students of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, Secondary Vocational Education College, and NAUCA High School participated in it. Most of the 26 participants of the Tournament were players with Chess categories which made the Competition for the prize-winning places more tense and spectacular.

In the competition for boys, student of the Faculty of Construction Vardan Sargsyan (C 31-2), was declared the winner of the Tournament with 7 points out of 7 possible and without a defeat. Tigran Arzumanyan (A 41-2) took the second place, and another student of the Faculty of Construction Artur Chakhoyan (C 42-8) took the third place.

In the prize-winning competition for girls, a student of the Faculty of Urban Economy and Ecology Mary Tadevosyan (U 24) was declared the winner. Shushanik Kirakosyan (M 33-3) took the second place, and Anush Hakobyan (D 35-2) took the third place.

This year, students of the Faculty of Construction particularly stood out in the Tournament taking three of the four prize-winning places. As a result, the Faculty of Construction was recognized as the team winner of the “NUACA Cup 2024”.

At the end of the Tournament, International Woman Grandmaster and organizer of the Tournament Lilit Galoyan, delivered her gratitude speech. Mrs Galoyan noted: “The Tournament has already become traditional and annual. It is organized by the Chair of Physical Education and Sport with the support of the relevant subdivisions of the University. This year, the Competition for the prize-winning places was also remarkable, and it is pleasant that the best students of the College and School also joined the Competition. I am glad that our students are participating with enthusiasm in the Tournament, which is organized in accordance with international standards.

The winners of the Tournament were awarded with medals, certificates and symbolic souvenirs of the University.
