NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

PhD in Technical Sciences Vahan Kobelyan has been appointed as the Acting Head of the Chair of Water Systems, Hydraulic Engineering and Hydropower.

Mr. Kobelyan studied and graduated from Faculty of Hydromelioration, Land management and Cadasters of Armenian National Agrarian University, majoring in “Main Issues on Drip Irrigation and Its Implementation Under the RA Conditions.” He defended his PhD Thesis at the same university on the “Drip Irrigation Issues and Implementation in the RA Conditions” topic.

During his professional activity, Vahan Kobelyan has implemented many important projects, in particular, drawing up design estimate documents for the construction of irrigation system for pastures in a number of settlements of RA Shirak, Gegharkunik, Syunik, Tavush, Aragatsotn, Kotayk marzes, conducting expertise and author’s supervision, designing 6 main canals, irrigation of 800 hectares of land in Martuni Province, designing of orchards with modern methods of irrigation, designing and research activities for the establishment of orchards in Arin, Aragatsavan, Archis, Ptghavan communities, design and author’s supervision, feasibility study of a number of investment projects in the water sector of Armenia.

Mr. Kobelyan has authored 6 scientific works and 1 methodical work. He has participated in various international programs, including “Combat Desertification” in the “MASHAV” Training Center, etc.

Vahan Kobelyan worked as an engineer, then as a leading engineer at “Hayjrnakhagits Institute” CJSC, as an engineer at “JINJ” LLC, and as a director at “DELTASHIN” company.
