Legislative amendments related to the licensing of organizations and certification of specialists in urban development have come into force. According to the new amendments, the responsible specialists of the organizations’ engineering staff must be certified. Specialists will have 1-3 classes. Moreover, a system of continuous professional development is being introduced.

Newly created organizations will be licensed under the new principle, and those organizations that already have license, by September 17, 2024 must apply to replace their existing license for the one of the appropriate class under the new legislation. If this requirement is not met, it will cease to operate by law after the end of the transitional phase.

Both the license and the certificate of the specialist will be issued for a period of 5 years.

The entire licensing and certification process will be carried out electronically through urban.e-gov.am platform. A digital registry of organizations and certified specialists with continuously updated information will be formed.

In addition, the rights and responsibilities of subjects in the field of urban development have been clarified. According to the new amendments, not only the organizations, but also the specialists will take responsibility.

Based on all the information collected, the ranking of organizations will be carried out automatically, excluding the human factor.
