Recently, a meeting-discussion was held at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA) on the formation, structure, and challenges of the technology cluster of the “Academic City” Foundation.
The meeting was initiated by the “Academic City” Foundation, within the framework of which, Project Coordinator of the Technical University of Munich International GmbH (TUMint) Georgeta Auktor who is responsible for the development of the technology cluster and the innovation management model, and the Project Manager Aline Laucke visited the University. The Coordinator of the Technology Cluster of the “Academic City” Foundation Ararat Sahakyan, and Architect Consultant of the Foundation Astghik Danielyan also participated in the discussion. Students, as well as representatives from the administrative, educational, and scientific fields of the University were present at the meeting.
During the Meeting, Georgeta Auktor and Alina Lauk referred to the transformation experience of the Technical University of Munich, presenting the successful models and applied methodologies. The prospects, potential challenges and solutions for the formation and development of the technology cluster of the “Academic City” Foundation were discussed. The necessity of merging universities, expanding, and establishing an interdisciplinary educational environment to strengthen connections between education, research, production, as well as the public and private sectors was emphasized.
In addition, the particularities and the role of education and research in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, and design in the technology cluster were discussed during the Meeting .
At the end of the Meeting, interactive discussions were organized, during which specific suggestions, ideas, and opinions of the participants were presented on the future development of the technology cluster.
