It is with deep sadness that we inform you that the Corresponding member of RA NAS, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Suren Mkhitaryan passed away.
Suren Mkhitaryan devoted more than 50 years of his life to science and education, combining scientific research and pedagogical activities. He was a distinguished scientist endowed with great dedication and deep knowledge, whose work left an indelible mark in various fields of science.
The core of Professor Mkhitaryan’s scientific activity was the contact and mixed-edge problems of the mathematical theory of elasticity and elastoplasticity, the mechanics of decay, the theory of filtration, and the development of effective mathematical methods for solving contact problems of deformable solid bodies. His impressive scientific legacy includes more than 200 scientific articles published in local and foreign periodicals making invaluable contributions to the development of these fields.
Since 2009, Mr. Mkhitaryan had been working at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA) as the Head of the Chair of Higher Mathematics and made an exceptional contribution to the formation of new scientific personnel, educating many devotees of science and education.
The memorial service will take place on December 1, at St. Hovhannes’s Church in Kond, at 18:00-20:00 p.m., the burial will take place on December 2, at 13:00 p.m, from the same place.
