NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
The “IACOBUS + Culture, Heritage and Involvement” academic program was launched between the UDC University of La Coruña, the OTH University of Regensburg, the ENSA Higher School of Clermont Ferrand and the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA). This academic program is based on the former IACOBUS program, which since 1995 has been attended by 1000 students, lecturers and experts from the above-mentioned foreign universities. The National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia has been participating in the “IACOBUS + Culture, Heritage and Involvement” academic program since 2018. NUACA Chair of Theory of Architecture, Restoration and Reconstruction of Historical-Architectural Heritage, Fine Arts and History is involved in the program.
The aim of the project is to reevaluate cultural heritage, restore and preserve those cultural monuments and their surroundings that are endangered or on the verge of extinction. The steps are aimed at giving new life to cultural monuments, which will have a great impact on the development of the communities where they are located.
The program has three main goals:
1. To provide students with professional training within the context of joint international work, which is also an experience for them to exchange knowledge and methodology in the field of work and education,
2. To draw the attention of the citizens and authorities on cultural values, increasing the responsibility of the society,
3. Contribute to the creation of European citizenship by raising awareness of our common history and cultural heritage.
The working methodology of the project is regional. The program is designed so that each semester the students have the opportunity to work in another place, in another country, constantly being involved in new projects.
The topic of the 2021 project study is the La Coruña Military Factory.
