ARTHUR ARAKELYAN, THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF NUACA HIGH SCHOOL AFTER MANUK ABEGHYAN, TALKED TO “ARAVOT” AND SUMMARIZED THE PAST SPORTS YEAR

Arthur Arakelyan, six-time powerlifting champion of Armenia, two-time champion of Europe, World champion, master of sports of international class, Deputy Director of NUACA High School after Manuk Abeghyan, summing up the past sports year, noted in a conversation with “Aravot” that the year was substantive. Despite the fact that Arthur Arakelyan participated only in the Armenian championship this year and became the winner, he is generally very active in training and is preparing for future championships. He says that when you work hard, your victory gives you joy and satisfaction. Arthur has been doing sports since he was six years old. After karate and arm wrestling, he decided to focus his efforts on powerlifting and continue his sports career in this sport.

“You know, sport is not only for developing physical abilities. The athlete’s mental abilities and his/her preparation for various situations are very important. That’s how the athlete who goes towards the goal is formed, gains self-confidence and endurance”, said Arthur Arakelyan in a conversation with us.

According to my interlocutor, sport is a wonderful way to achieve goals, the best opportunity to live a beautiful and harmonious life. “Sport is not only a way to compete and fight with each other, but also a path of life, which shapes a person in all aspects,” added the champion, assuring that he must prove more by reaching new heights. Even during these days, Arthur Arakelyan is in non-stop training. He notes that there are many plans, but time is short. But along with all this, his family is an immeasurable value for him. Arthur’s two children also give him strength. He does everything to make them grow up as real Armenians. “I am committed to the Homeland every day. We have to stay close to our genes, the spirit of our struggle, and our winning type,” added Arthur Arakelyan.
