NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

The meeting, held at the RA Chamber of Architects, was as much working and perspective as it was warm and constructive. The representatives of the governing body of our University alongside with the president and members of the Chamber discussed the academic innovations currently in the process of implementation at the University and the issues related to the professional growth of the students and alumni.

At the first part of the agenda the Delegation of our University informed about the transition to the teaching method of cyclic education at the University, within the framework of which all the academic programs are being updated. It was presented that new elective subjects are to be introduced, due to which students will have an even wider choice.

The next key points in the working discussion were the issue of making amendments in the procedure of providing Architecture and Construction alumni, having high academic performance and GPA, with licenses by the Chamber of Architects, as well as organizing professional training courses at the University jointly with the Chamber .

Realizing the necessity of providing future specialists with the right consultation and guidance at an early stage of their study, the perspective ways of developing “Design of Buildings” academic program of the Faculty of Construction were also discussed. In particular, it was proposed to guide the second year students of this specialty in the choice of specialization (Architecture or Construction), which will enable them to get a license of this or that field after completing the master’s degree.

At the end of the discussion our colleagues from the Chamber of Architects welcomed and approved the above-mentioned University reforms, noting that they are in the interests of the specialty and future specialists and will contribute to the increase of the quality. They reaffirmed their readiness to support this procedure.
