NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

University with a 100-Year History

A MEETING WITH ARMENIAN-FRENCH FILM DIRECTOR, ACTOR, SCREENWRITER AND PRODUCER SERGE AVÉDIKIAN

Within the framework of the program “Meetings with Famous Armenian Figures” organised by the Student Council of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, the renowned Armenian-French film director, actor, screenwriter and producer Serge Avédikian paid a visit to the University.

Susanna Hakobyan, the President of NUACA Student Council, welcomed the attendees: “Dear Mr. Avédikian and dear students, we have started an initiative with which we plan to have meetings with famous Armenian cultural figures. Those beautiful initiatives were launched by the meeting with you. I would like to extend my special gratitude to Mr. Avédikian. As you know, he carries out his patriotic activities in France and will stay in Armenia for a very short time. We are honoured that he made time for meeting with us. Yesterday we watched his animated films and today we have the opportunity to address our questions to Mr. Avédikian, as well as to have direct contact with our prominent compatriot.”

Mr. Avédikian, attaching importance to the organisation of such meetings, noted: “It is very important for me to communicate with new generations and young people, so that I myself do not grow old and lose touch with time, because time is rather in the hands of young people now. Generational relationships are very important not only for upbringing, but also for acquiring wisdom. If they have tried, seen, made conclusions and have not passed it all down to the youth, it is similar to committing a crime. Exchange of ideas and communication are very important in any field. I am very happy to be here, and I ask you to think about what is most necessary and important for you. Accordingly, it is necessary to move forward.”

During the meeting, there was a discussion about the short animated film series “A Beautiful Morning”, “Lifeline” and “Barking Island”. Film series were pre-screened at the University.
