NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
Recently, the Armenian-Iranian conference entitled “Poetry of Image” has been held in Matenadaran, which was dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the Iranian-Armenian painter Andre Sevrugian. Andre Sevrugian mainly created in the style of old Persian painting and miniatures, but the Armenian theme has its own place in his works. The painter was closely connected with the Armenian people and their historical past. The painter was able to skillfully express the touches and feelings described in Sayat-Nova’s games, as well as the love and suffering of the poet reaching the point of worship.
More than a dozen thematic reports were presented on the historical and literary relations of the Armenian-Iranian peoples, the commonalities of the past and the best examples of cultural dialogue. A number of valuable reports were presented by Armenian and Iranian speakers from Matenadaran, National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, Farhangian University of Iran, Imam Khomeini International University, Tehran University, Pázmány Péter Catholic University of Hungary, and Soochow University of China. Advisor of NUACA International Relations Department and Assistant at the Chair of Architectural Design and Design of Architectural Environment Armen Minasyan participated in the Conference. Mr. Minasyan delivered a report on “Transformation of Iranian Contemporary Architecture and the Pivotal Role of Armenian Architects”.
At the end of the Conference, the participants had a tour around the Matenadaran Museum, got acquainted with Armenian and foreign language manuscripts, as well as with the permanent and temporary exhibitions.
