VISIT OF THE AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF THE SWISS CONFEDERATION TO THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Armenia Lukas Rosenkranz, Head of the Department of Architecture and Art of Geneva University of Art and Design Javier Fernandez Contreras, Author of the “Learning by Stone” Summer School and Lecturer Irma Galitsyan, and Assistant of the Teaching Team Lerna Bagdjian visited National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the educational-scientific process of the University and to discuss possible ways of future cooperation. The guests had a tour around the University, as well as visited the laboratories and studios of the University.

Afterwards, NUACA Acting Rector Manuk Barseghyan delivered a welcome speech: “Welcome everyone! I am very happy to see you here. The University continues to develop international collaborations. And as a new step, I attach great importance to this important event, because I am sure that the development of international relations is really important for the development of both education and science, which, due to our partners, is constantly developing. I am confident that the Cooperation will be continuous for the benefit of the University and the development of the Country.”

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Armenia Lukas Rosenkranz noted: “Greeting everyone, I would like to extend my gratitude for the warm welcome. I am very happy to cooperate with NUACA and I am confident that this cooperation will continue in the future in the field of Geoinformation as well.”

“I am very happy to be at this University. Attaching importance to this Cooperation, I am also here to discuss with you another cooperation proposal, which is already with Geneva University of Art and Design. Our university has 3 clear standards: educational standards, cooperation with private institutions and scientific research. We will start with the Workshop, after which the collaboration will have deeper involvement,” mentioned Head of the Department of Architecture and Art of Geneva University of Art and Design Javier Fernandez Contreras.

It should also be noted that on September 2, the “Learning by Stone” Summer School jointly organized by National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, Geneva University of Art and Design, and Tumo Center was launched with the participation of students from both universities.

At the end of the Meeting, the parties valued the Meeting, noting that it was an important step for strengthening mutual cooperation and developing future joint programmes.  They also attached importance to the cooperation with the Faculty of Design.
