NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
The two-day workshop entitled “Challenges and Development Ways of the RA Real Estate” jointly organized by National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, the RA Urban Development Committee and the Armenian Association of Developers was held in Aghveran. The aim of the Workshop is to highlight the challenges and problems of the RA Real Estate, to point out the ways of development and to create mechanisms for improving the cooperation of the participants of the field.
The Workshop started with a speech delivered by NUACA Acting Rector Manuk Barseghyan. Mr. Barseghyan welcomed the attendees and noted: “This Workshop is a significant event for all of us, during which we will try to find answers to face urgent challenges and use the huge potential of the Armenian Real Estate Market. For the first time, our leading players in real estate have come together under one roof to have a meaningful dialogue, share invaluable experience and knowledge, and collaborate in having an effectively built environment in our country.
One of the most important aspects of this Workshop is to establish effective cooperation between partners and solve market problems. Our commitment to training specialists for this field is especially important. I think most of you are aware that currently, Armenian universities lack academic programmes that are specially adapted to the training of Real Estate market specialists. It is our collective responsibility to address this gap and pave the way for the next generation of skilled specialists who will drive innovation, sustainability and prosperity in the field of Real Estate.”
Deputy Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Nune Petrosyan also delivered a speech: “Currently, the processes implemented in the field of urban development contribute to the solution of the issues in the Real Estate market in the Country and increase the investment attractiveness. This process also attaches importance to the possibilities of simplifying institutional processes. The discussion of these topics in the communities also contributes to the increase of public awareness, and the proposed format of the present Workshop, in which the components representing the different layers are summarized, considers the solutions of the issues related to the problem from the perspectives of different stakeholders, therefore the emerging solutions of the proposed issues will have a comprehensive orientation. Once again, I welcome the participants and wish them a productive workshop.”
The President of the Armenian Association of Developers Gurgen Grigoryan also delivered his welcome speech: “The Real Estate market is a wealth for the country, because it is a permanent value and does not leave the country. Our meeting today is welcome, because the issues of the field, their effective solutions, and state regulation issues will be discussed. I also welcome the participation of all attendees, representatives of the University, because due to the University mind it is often possible to build the best versions of problems on a knowledge base”.
The representatives of the 3 above-mentioned structures delivered reports at the Workshop, which included the Real Estate market, its role in the Country’s economy, the main issues of the regulation of the field and the ways of solving them, the legal regulation and management of the purposeful use of land in the Republic of Armenia, legal regulations of valuation, opportunities for training specialists and other directions. The representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, the Union of Builders of Armenia, the self-regulating Pan-Armenian Union of Appraisers “Expert Council”, and Yerevan State University also delivered reports.
The Workshop concluded with the signing of a memorandum and cooperation agreements between the parties.
