From 15 to 21 July 2018 a summer school “Reimagine the village: Hadrut” will be organized in Old Hadrut district. The workshop is aimed at preserving the existing architectural values and developing tourism in this region. The choice of this settlement is for a reason as the unique architecture of the 18th-19th centuries exists here, which needs to be conserved and given a new breath.
Reimagine the village: the main objective of the Hadrut summer school is urban and tourism development together with the preservation and rehabilitation of the historical environment. In this format, the Summer School is planned to be organized annually by choosing various interesting environments and focusing on maintaining architectural values, as well as creating there new and lasting ones.
The Summer School participants will have the opportunity to attend both theoretical and practical trainings. To provide theoretical part, lecturers and experts in the field are already invited
to deliver lectures and share their experiences. Undergraduate students of II-IV years, as well as master students in Architecture, Design, Graphic Design are welcomed for participation in the Summer School. This year’s Summer School is for 20 students. Participants will be provided with all the necessary amenities, transportation, accommodation and meals. The initiative is greatly supported by the Dorut Studio, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.
Registration and participation in the Summer School
STAGE I
The organizers will review the submitted applications and will announce about the selection outcome.
In order to participate in the Summer School it is necessary to register beforehand, the deadline for registration is 29.06.2018. The decision outcome will be announced to the participants until
02.07.2018.
STAGE II
For the selected participants, an account number where the participation fee must be paid will be sent to their e-mail addresses together with the further details on the Summer School program. Applicants who have overcome the selection stage will be informed electronically, getting also information about: the account number to which the participation fee should be transferred, as well as information about further steps. Participation fee is 25,000AMD. The maximum number of participants is 20 people. Program participants will be provided with round trip transportation Yerevan-Hadrut-Yerevan, catered three times daily, accommodation for 6 nights in Hadrut containing all the necessary utilities, stationery and other necessary materials.
