The National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia suffered an enormous loss. Dean of the Faculty of Design, designer, painter, sculptor, Professor of visual arts, member of the administration of the Union of Designers of Armenia and member of the International Association of Designers, honorary member of the National Design Academy of the Russian Federation Armen Rafayel Bubushyan has passed away.
Professor Armen Rafayel Bubushyan was born in 1954 in Yerevan. After graduating from Yerevan Secondary School No. 42, he entered the Department of Industrial Art of Yerevan Fine Arts and Theatre Institute, from which he graduated in 1977, receiving a state qualification of a painter-constructor. He started his work activity in the Armenian Branch of All-Soviet Scientific-Research Institute of Technical Aesthetics, was a painter-constructor, and then was drafted into the Soviet Army.
In 2014, Armen Bubushyan was appointed Dean of the NUACA Faculty of Design. During his tenure, the Faculty has achieved significant success in both education and science, becoming one of the leading Faculties of the University. Mr. Bubushyan was the author of more than 300 implemented design projects, 200 “Fine-Art” works and 10 implemented architectural projects of public and private buildings.
The Professor worked and taught both at the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia and at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, educating several generations of talented and successful designers working abroad and in Armenia.
The management, the entire academic staff and all the students of NUACA deeply grieve the loss of the honorary Professor, expressing their condolences to his family and friends.
