“The introduction and development of geoinformation technologies in the tourism sector will promote newer revelations and progress. Armenia has a fabulous nature, unique and interesting architecture, ancient cultural heritage and today we shall prepare specialists who have international qualifications and capacity to improve the sector. From this perspective, cooperation with the European and neighbouring Georgian universities is more noteworthy”, said NUACA rector Gagik Galstyan in his greeting speech.

The project is aimed at intermodular reforms in the curricula of master and post-graduate studies with the integration of geoinformation technologies applicable in the fields of cultural heritage documentation, management of tourism and entrepreneurship.

“The project will be realized by the consortium the members of which are 4 European, 6 Georgian and 6 Armenian partners. Moreover, the project will promote the development of tourism both in Armenia and Georgia. I extend special gratitude to NUACA as without their support the project would not become a reality”, presenting the project told its coordinator Luis Fernandez (Polytechnic University of Valencia).

In the frames of the “Intermodular Reforms in Tertiary Education: Tourism Management and Applied GIS” three-year educational program there will be exchange programmes among partner universities, seminars and lecturer trainings, establishment of GIS labs, development and equipment of those labs with newer tools.
