NUACA CONTINUES TO EXPAND ITS COOPERATION

The centuries-old cooperation between Armenia and Russia in the field of science and education nowadays dictates new quality and demands, expanding the university geography. The Rectors of Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University (PGUPS) with a 200- year history, and National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA) with a 100-year history, ratified the Agreement on “Cooperation in the Fields of Science and Education.”

“Not only the first railway, but almost all the bridges in St. Petersburg were designed and built by the lecturers and graduates of our University. We strive to further develop the traditionally established direction and we hope that this cooperation will contribute to that process, as well as will become an incentive for strengthening the centuries-old friendship between our two countries”- mentioned A. Yu. Panychev, the Rector of Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University (PGUPS), expressing his gratitude for the warm Armenian hospitality.

The aforementioned Agreement envisages the development of joint educational programs, research in areas of mutual interest in compliance with the financial capacity, publication of research results, exchange programs of academic staff, experts and students, as well as exchange of information on scientific achievements, conferences, symposia, other memorable events and so on. The cooperation between the two universities turned into a reality on the initiative of Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University (PGUPS).

NUACA Rector Yeghiazar Vardanyan, emphasizing the significant and key role of the partner university օn the international platform and in the scientific-educational field, expressed gratitude for taking an interest in the University: “We are hopeful that this cooperation will become a unique incentive for the implementation of interesting, mutually beneficial programs and the creation of new ways for opportunities. This Agreement is proof of high-level cooperation between our countries and universities. We express readiness to expand our bilateral cooperation in the future within the set format.”

During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on the activities of the universities, made proposals for the development of cooperation in the academic, scientific and cultural fields. As a result of interesting discussions, PGUPS Rector considered it possible to jointly participate in commercial programs with NUACA, and offered NUACA to be included in the editorial team of one of their scientific journals.

In his turn, NUACA Rector invited the colleagues to the international conference envisaged within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the University. PGUPS Rector reciprocally invited

NUACA to participate in the Third International Scientific and Educational Project “Heritage of Betancourt”.
