NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

NUACA Chair of Physical Education and Sports organized a hiking trip via   Haghpatavanq-Kayanberd(Dsevanq)-Sanahin route with nearly 10km walk. During the trip the students and lecturers admired forested peaks, velvet grasslands, cavernous gorges, cultural and historical medieval monuments.

Firstly they visited Haghpatavanq included in the UNESCO preservation program of universal cultural values, which was the one of the most prominent religious and cultural centers of Armenia during 10-13 centuries. Then the hikers traveled to the ruins of Kayanaberd (Dsevanq) resting on the peak via forest track, followed by Sanahin monastery (10-13cc).

According to Hakob Badalyan, head of NUACA Physical Education and Sports Chair the trips will be regular, 1-2 times in a month, and all the safety measurements are strictly provided. The hiking tours are aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle among students and lecturers, fostering student-lecturer ties, providing leisure activities for students, taking them closer to nature and increasing their awareness about the historical and cultural legacy of the Republic of Armenia.
