“PROGRESS THROUGH EFFECTIVE SCIENCE. PES-2026” CONFERENCE IN DILIJAN

The scientific conference “Progress through Effective Science: PES-2026” has launched in Dilijan, with the participation of the Minister of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan. The event brought together representatives of the scientific community for discussions on the development of science, cooperation, and exchange of experience.

Rector of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia Manuk Barseghyan was also invited to the opening ceremony of the conference.

During the event, beneficiaries of the Higher Education and Science Committee grant programmes present the results of their scientific research, including programmes for leading research, development of scientific groups, remote laboratories, and integration of scientists from abroad. This year, for the first time, “targeted programmes” aimed at solving state strategic issues are also presented.

Head of NUACA Chair of Engineering Geodesy, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Anush Margaryan, also delivered a report within the framework of the conference, presenting the topic “Development and Implementation of Machine and Deep Learning algorithms for Building Detection and Mapping Using Aerial Images in the National Spatial Data Infrastructure.”

Welcoming the participants, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan highlighted the role of the conference as a platform for scientific cooperation, exchange of experience, and the development of interdisciplinary ties. She emphasized that science is one of the key factors in the development of the state and society, as well as attached importance to public access and dissemination of scientific results.

The Minister touched upon the need to improve the science management system, effectively organize scientific activities, and publicize scientific facts, especially in the context of misinformation. She also noted that the strategic program and priority directions for the development of the science field of the Republic of Armenia for 2026-2030 have been approved.

Beneficiaries of “PostDoc-Armenia”, “Women Leadership Development Program” and other grant initiatives participate in the Conference for the first time. As part of the event, young researchers will present short reports in the “Gong Show” format.

The conference is organized with the support of the Higher Education and Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Armenia and has been bringing together representatives of the scientific community for the fifth consecutive year, contributing to the development of the modern scientific environment in Armenia.
