THE WINNERS OF THE INTERNAL GRANT COMPETITION SUBMITTED THEIR WORKS

According to the ”Procedure for Organizing Grant Competitions for Scientific-Research Activities by National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia”, approved by the decision of the Scientific Council of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, the Board of Trustees, by the 2021 Budget, approved funding for internal scientific grant competitions in the University, which would give an opportunity to the academic staff and students to submit joint projects and to the winners to be funded.

On February 4, 2022, the Scientific Policy Department organized a presentation on the winning projects and the implemented works. As the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs M. Barseghyan mentioned 4 topics were recognized as winners, which were able to achieve tangible results within a year after receiving funding and are ready to present their works. The winning topics are:

  1. “Development and Testing of Instrument Monitoring Complex of the Superstructure of the Bridges” (Supervisor: Artashes Sargsyan; graduate student: Eleonor Harutyunyan; student: Taron Baghdasaryan),
  2. “Modernization of Pre-Estimate Normative Information Database of Construction Machines, Mechanisms, Tools and Equipment” (Supervisor: Armine Ghulyan;  graduate students: Armen Avetyan and Satenik Hayrapetyan),
  3. “Development of the Methodology of Experimental Research Aimed at Increasing the Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Buildings” (Supervisor: Siranush Egnatosyan; graduate students: Karen Movsisyan, Spartak Sargsyan and Davit Hakobyan),
  4. “Design and Creation of a Laser Deformometer” (Supervisor: Hovsep Petrosyan; graduate students: Vahan Gevorgyan, Tatevik Khachikyan).

The winning groups started presenting their works to the University management, academic staff, as well as students interested in the event. All the topics had novelty and relevance, so there was a heated discussion after each presentation. NUACA Rector Y. Vardanyan attached importance to the implemented works, emphasizing especially the involvement of students in such scientific research. The Rector noted that the internal scientific grant competitions will be continuous, encouraging the joint and collaborative work of students, young scientists and professors. One of the works will continue in 2022 at the suggestion of the Rector, as this year also funds have been allocated for internal grant competitions.
