NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
In the center of Yerevan, in the 4th section of the Circular Park, a monument-fountain dedicated to the knights of national dignity who organized and carried out the Operation “Nemesis” in 1919-1922 was opened. The author is RA Honorary Architect, PhD in Architecture, Professor at the Chair of Architectural Design and Design of Architectural Environment Tigran Barseghyan.
The monument was dedicated to Soghomon Tehlirian, Aram Yerganian, Arshavir Shirakian, Petros Ter-Poghosyan, Artashes Gevorgyan, Misak Torlakian, Stepan Tsaghikyan, Hakob Melkumov, Yervand Fundukyan, Armen Garo, Grigor Merjanov, Avetik Isahakyan, Arshak Yezdanyan, Ara Sargsyan, Hrach Papazyan, Shahan Natali.
The petition for the installation of the memorial was submitted by the descendants of the avengers of the Armenian Genocide.
University management, lecturers, students, heirs of heroes, public, political and cultural figures, as well as scientists and other citizens were present at the opening of the monument.
Advisor to the Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan noted that the Yerevan Council of the Elders voted unanimously for the initiative to create a monument.
The Operation “Nemesis” was an operation for the dignity and justice of the Armenian people, and all of us are obliged to always bow before the devoted children of the Armenian nation.
