THE FAMOUS BUILDER VARDGES ARTSRUNI PASSED AWAY

We, with great sorrow, inform that today, at the age of 77 the famous builder and philanthropist Vardkes Artsruni passed away.

Vardges Artsruni was born on October 31, 1941 in the city of Kislovodsk. Immediately after completing his service in the Army, he entered the Moscow Construction Institute. 

Since 1979, Artsruni held senior positions in the field of construction, and was also the deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Armenia. Vardges Artsruni had a significant role in eliminating the effects of the 1988 Spitak earthquake.

In 1991, he was deputy head of the Department of Urban Planning of Moscow, as well as the head of the “Mosinterstroy” Union. He rendered great support in the reconstruction of the Lazarev Seminary in Moscow.

Vardges Artsruni’s funeral will take place on August 24 at the Armenian Apostolic Church in Moscow.
