Head of the Chair of Theory, History and Heritage of Architecture of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, PhD in Architecture, Professor Emma Harutyunyan has been elected an expert member of the International Scientific Committee of ICOMOS on Education and Training (CIF).
The ICOMOS CIF is an international professional platform that brings together experts specialized in the fields of education, training, research and cultural heritage conservation. The Committee’s activities are aimed at exchanging knowledge and experience in the fields of study, conservation, management and restoration of built heritage, historic sites and cultural landscapes, developing educational programs and promoting international scientific cooperation.
Emma Harutyunyan’s acceptance as a CIF expert member is a high assessment of her professional and scientific activities, as well as her experience in the fields of architectural heritage research, conservation and education. ICOMOS CIF expert members are selected taking into account their professional abilities, knowledge and experience, in particular in the fields of education and training related to the conservation and management of cultural heritage.
Emma Harutyunyan has been linking her scientific and pedagogical activities with the issues of studying, preserving and restoring architectural heritage for many years. Since 2015, she has headed the corresponding NUACA Chair, the important directions of which are the study of Armenian and world architecture, the preservation and restoration of historical and architectural heritage, as well as methodical issues of professional education and training of architects.
Inclusion in a new international professional platform also creates new opportunities for NUACA, contributing to the expansion of the University’s international connections, deepening professional and scientific cooperation, as well as the international dissemination of knowledge and experience on Armenian architectural heritage.
