A working meeting was held at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia with the working group headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Water Committee of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, the development programmes and initiatives in the field envisaged by the Water Committee were discussed, one of the important prerequisites for the effective implementation of which is the development of the capabilities of specialists in the field and the training of new personnel.
During the discussion, it was presented that National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia has been training specialists in the water sector for many years through undergraduate and graduate programmes, as well as through requalification and continuous professional development courses in the design, construction and management of hydrotechnical and hydropower structures, water supply and wastewater systems, as well as other professional areas in the field.
Representatives of the Water Committee presented the priority professional areas for which demand is expected, conditioned by the implementation of the envisaged development programs in the field. The possibilities of implementing joint programmes for training, retraining and continuing education of specialists in accordance with the current requirements of the state system and the labor market were also discussed.
The parties attached importance to combining the scientific and educational potential of the University and the experience of the Water Committee in the field, emphasizing that the development of existing educational programs and the introduction of new professional courses can make a significant contribution to the modernization of the water sector and the strengthening of human resources.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation in favor of the sustainable development of the water economy in Armenia.
National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia will continue to develop cooperation with state bodies, the professional community, and partners of the field, contributing to the preparation of competitive and highly qualified specialists for the fields of strategic importance to the country.
