NUACA UNITES THE LEADERS IN THE FIELD

Highlighting the importance of the cooperation in the fields of education, construction and urban planning, taking into account the importance of urban planning as a locomotive branch of the RA economy, the need for continuous and sustainable development of the sector, as well as the goal of increasing efficiency and making it aligned with the international standards, and the need to increase the effectiveness of cooperation between specialists in the field, on November 24 of this year at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the five main partners in the field: the RA Urban Development Committee, represented by Committee Chairman Armen Ghularyan, the “National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia” Foundation, represented by Rector Yeghiazar Vardanyan, the “Association of the Armenian Developers” NGO, represented by President Gurgen Grigoryan, the “Union of Builders of the Republic of Armenia” NGO, represented by President Gagik Galstyan and the “Chamber of Architects of Armenia” NGO, represented by President Mkrtich Minasyan. 

The Memorandum envisages cooperation within the RA Legislation and the competences of the signatory parties, within the framework of development of urban planning, training of specialists, continuous professional development, qualification upgrading, opportunities and experience of staff. 

Rector Y. Vardanyan made an opening speech. He stated in his speech: “This Memorandum reinstates the fact that we will all unite our efforts to make the solution of the existing problems in the field even more effective. With the coordination of the Urban Development Committee, we will create more favorable conditions for providing education, carrying out urban planning and construction activities, as well as encouraging the processing, production, recycling and use of building materials with local raw materials in the construction works taking place in the Republic of Armenia. I thank you once again and congratulate all of us on the occasion of this cooperation.”  

Armen Ghularyan, the Chairman of the Urban Development Committee also greeted the attendees. “Today’s event is special, I want to extend my gratitude to the parties for initiating this event and joining it. This Memorandum that we signed together is the beginning of the joint programs that we must implement together with you. I especially want to thank Mr. Vardanyan and the Association of the Armenian Developers for inviting us to join this event. We negotiated, discussed and came to the conclusion that we should unite and sign a memorandum. I am convinced that this Memorandum will be the beginning of implementing more purposeful, literate, promising and long-term programs in the field of urban development,” said A. Ghularyan.

The Heads of  “Association of the Armenian Developers”, “Union of Builders of the Republic of Armenia” and “Chamber of Architects of Armenia” non-governmental organizations also made welcoming speeches. 

Before the main signing ceremony, the guests, accompanied by the NUACA Rector, toured around the University laboratories, got acquainted with the technical equipment and opportunities, as well as the services provided. 

The solemn signing ceremony was followed by a round table discussion on current issues in the field and joint activities related to the goals of the Memorandum.
