University with a 100-Year History

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ENTITLED “PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE AS A MEANS OF EFFECTIVE DIALOGUE AMONG STATES” HAS LAUNCHED

Within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, an international conference entitled “Preservation of historical and cultural heritage as a means of effective dialogue among states” has launched at the Matenadaran today with the participation 65 architect-scholars. The guests arrived in Armenia from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Italy, Spain, France and a number of other countries.

The event was attended by the President of the Board of Trustees of NUACA Vlad Asatryan, Rector Yeghiazar Vardanyan, Director of the Archives and the Museum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Father Asoghik Karapetyan, President of the Urban Development Committee Armen Ghularyan, Head of the Cadastre Committee Suren Tovmasyan, Vice-Rectors and other honorary guests.

Rector of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia Yeghiazar Vardanyan made a welcoming speech. He noted that 2021 is a jubilee year for the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, it marks the 100th anniversary of the University, and in this context he assured that this Conference will create favorable conditions to promote the potential and capabilities that will serve the development of academic science and the quality of education.

On the first day of the Conference, the architects presented reports on issues related to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, the modern urban transformation of historic cities, and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage during armed conflicts.

The activities following the plenary session of the three-day Conference will be organized at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia in the format of the following thematic platforms:

  • Preservation of historical and cultural heritage, presentation of scientific reports (room 2021)
  • Innovation and presentation of scientific reports on monuments will take place (room 2023)

A memorandum will be prepared based on the proposals and reports of the participants, which will be signed at the end of the Conference.

The conference is organized by the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, with the support of the RA MoESCS and the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation. It has been organized within the framework of the 100th anniversary of NUACA.
