The exhibition entitled “Our Well-Deserved Ones: Artak Ghulyan: Builder, Scientist, Teacher” has opened at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.
The Exhibition was organized in cooperation with Artak Ghulyan’s students and fellow lecturers, with the aim of presenting and summarizing his rich and valuable heritage. The first representative of the Exhibition bearing the above title is Artak Ghulyan himself, who, through his work, has presented the harmonious trinity of a master builder, scientist, and teacher.
Artak Ghulyan’s life and creative path are an example of how science, art, and spiritual values can be harmoniously combined, creating works of cultural significance that speak to generations.
His first research on the monuments of his homeland was devoted to the Melikdoms of Artsakh. He also made a great contribution to the study and revaluation of medieval church architecture. About two dozen churches were built in Armenia and the Diaspora based on Artak Ghulyan’s designs.
His role in the field of education is also great. As a dedicated lecturer, he has lovingly and responsibly passed on his knowledge and experience to students for years, forming a new generation of specialists.
The Exhibition is not only a tribute to the great architect, but also an important initiative to value those people who have shaped the face of Armenian architecture and science with their work.
