Mr. Vardanyan noted: “Thanks to the high support of the Embassy, and due to the effective cooperation formed between “Petros Aloyan” Foundation, “Mediamax” news agency and our University, this beautiful Award Ceremony is being held for the seventh year in a row”.

Mr. Vardanyan also added: “Today, the final stage of this year’s competition will be held. The final-year master’s degree students of the three professional chairs of the Faculty of Architecture, who had submitted their projects yet in their first year, participated in the competition entitled “Modernization of Historical-Architectural Environment.” The six best works selected on the first stage of the Competition will be presented to our attention. I am sure that all works have a great chance to become the best and regardless of the result, all the participants have already achieved success, because they have reached this important stage. I attach great importance to holding the Award Ceremony and wish us a productive work.”

Before presenting the works, Mr. Vardanyan gifted the book of paintings by the People’s Painter and Honourary Artist of the Republic of Armenia, NUACA Professor Hrant Tadevosyan to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania Andrius Pulokas, in turn, expressed his contentment, pointing out that it was a great honour for him to attend the Award Ceremony named after his compatriot Baltrušaitis and attached great importance to holding the Competition, expressing the Embassy’s readiness to enhance the cooperation with the University.

After that, the presentation of the works commenced. All the presented works were distinguished by interesting solutions and proposals. In the selection process of the presented projects, particular emphasis was placed on the student’s desire to preserve the old and present it in a new way. The detailed work carried out by the student was yet another point to attach importance to.

After studying and discussing the projects, the Competition Committee declared the winner of the Competition – the second-year master’s degree student of the Chair of Theory, History and Heritage of Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture Karine Karen Hakobyan. The work of the latter concerns the preservation and regeneration of historical “Old Nork” district.

At the end of the Award Ceremony, the members of the Committee extended their gratitude to the students and noted that the Competition contributes to the development of students and the enhancement of their professional skills, as well as helps them become professional architects in the future.
