National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia hosted representatives of Cité de l’architecture and du patrimoine École de Chaillot of France Natacha Pakker, Head of International Activities and Educational Programs, and Professor Antoine Bourgerol. Within the framework of the visit, an official ceremony of resigning the cooperation agreement between the two institutions took place, reaffirming the continuity of the long-standing and fruitful partnership.
The meeting was also attended by Counselor for Cultural Cooperation and Activities of the Embassy of the Republic of France in Armenia Xavier Richard, Head of Cultural Programs Fatma Kebe, as well as the Founder of the “Re-School” Scientific and Educational Organization Natasha Tyutcheva.
NUACA Rector Manuk Barseghyan welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of the cooperation established with École de Chaillot, emphasizing the Institution’s high professional reputation and its important role in the field of cultural heritage preservation. The Rector noted that the cooperation has been carried out for years in an atmosphere of mutual trust and effective work, becoming one of the important directions of the university’s international relations.
Manuk Barseghyan also emphasized that the programmes have always been at the center of attention and support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the Embassy of France in Armenia, which creates new opportunities for the expansion and development of initiatives.
It is noteworthy that the foundation for cooperation was laid within the framework of the additional professional academic programme “Preservation of Cultural Heritage” implemented jointly with “Re-Shkola” and École de Chaillot, which today has already formed an important professional platform for young specialists and researchers in the field.
The rector extended his gratitude to Director of École de Chaillot Julien Bargeton for his willingness and continued support in strengthening partnership relations.
The resigned agreement will serve as a new impetus for deepening cooperation between the two educational institutions, contributing to the implementation of joint educational and research programmes, academic mobility, professional training, workshops, summer schools, and new initiatives aimed at the preservation of cultural heritage.
In his speech, Xavier Richard noted that currently more than 3,000 Armenian students are studying at various universities in France, emphasizing that one of the most established and historical directions of Armenian-French educational cooperation is the field of architecture, and that since 1994, the NUACA architecture diploma has been recognized by the French government as equivalent to the French one.
Summing up his speech, Xavier Richard reaffirmed the readiness of the French Embassy in Armenia to continuously support joint programmes and initiatives aimed at the preservation of historical and architectural heritage.
