NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
Recently, the Architecture Festival took place in Yerevan, which included the 27th Session of the Coordinating Council of the International Union of Architects. The Architecture Festival was organized by the Chamber of Architects of Armenia with the support of the Urban Development Committee, Yerevan Municipality and National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. The Festival received delegations from 16 countries.
According to Deputy President of the Chamber of Architects of Armenia and Lecturer at National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia Arev Samuelyan, the first week of October was dedicated to World Architecture Day. In her speech, Mrs. Samuelyan attached importance to the many events planned in parallel with the Festival, including visits to architectural studios, where architects presented their professional experience to the young generation.
Within the framework of the events, a reception of the Mayor of Yerevan and the Chairman of the Urban Development Committee of Armenia, events at the Museum of Architecture, and awarding medals to honoured architects are envisaged. The “Yerevan: Yesterday and Today” exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the master plan of Yerevan will be opened in cooperation with the Chamber of Architects of Armenia and the National Museum-Institute of Architecture After Alexander Tamanyan.
Within the framework of the Council Session, the 27th International Competition-Exhibition of the best works designed and implemented by the IAUA was also presented to the public, which will be held in the Chamber of Architects of Armenia from October 10-28. About 150 works are presented in various nominations at the Competition-Exhibition.
