NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

A professional discussion on the qualitative properties of Armenian origin building materials used in road construction took place at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.

The representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of the Republic of Armenia, the  “Transport Programs Implementation Organization” SNCO, the Spanish company “Corsan-Corviam Construccion S.A.”, which carries out construction of “North-South Road Corridor”, the technical supervision of the Chinese “Synohydro”, French “Safej” and Spanish “Eptisa” joint ventures, the Italian Joint Venture of  Spea Ingengneria Europea S.p.A.” and “IRD Engineering S.r.L”, the representatives of other organizations and specialists from the Armenian National University of Architecture and Construction were attended to the meeting.

During the discussion, the need to ensure high quality in the field of road construction was mentioned. It was pointed out that during construction any deviation from the quality should be excluded. The specialists and scientists present at the meeting have proved, based on the results of their studies, that Armenia has the opportunity to produce the cement for road construction corresponding to the AASHTO M 85 standards and carry out quality road construction work.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided to organize a working group with the involvement of scientists, builders, engineers and representatives of companies producing cement, who will monitor the quality of cement for road construction and the correspondence of this one to international standards.
