Hayk Mkrtchyan, a lecturer at the Chair of Architectural Design and Design of Architectural Environment of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, was awarded with the 2021 “Debuts of Cooperation” international award by the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation, presenting his activities in the last 10 years.
Hayk Mkrtchyan, along with his pedagogical activities, has been participating in local and international competition projects.
In 2010 he won the first-class award for the design of “Komitas Metro Station and Shopping Center” in Yerevan.
In 2014 he received the first bonus for the design of Saryan Street in Yerevan. During those years, he designed residential complexes, private houses, public buildings, restaurants, hotels, memorial plaques, churches, statues and other structures. Hayk Mkrtchyan is also the author of the construction project of the memorial complex dedicated to YSU students who were martyred in the 44-day war.
Among Hayk Mkrtchyan’s works, the Tomb and the place of church services in Etchmiadzin, co-authored by A. Mkhitaryan, stands out particularly. Since 2015, Hayk Mkrtchyan has been a member of the Union of Architects of Armenia. One can talk endlessly about his activities.
