NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA
University with a 100-Year History
On February 7 the Armenian youth celebrated the main Barekendan- the kind, vital and abundant holiday of the Armenian church followed by the Great Lent. Young people with masks walked to the Liberty Square from Saint Sargis church singing national songs and dancing folk dances, hence resurecting the ancient, yet revived holiday.
The area of the Liberty Square was turned to the real stage of national games, songs, music and mask-parade. It is already the second year that the day is seasoned with a spiritual-cultural flavor due to the exhibition devoted to Saint Sargis and initiated by the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese. The exhibition is an opportunity and motivation for students to create their works and express love.
NUACA was also involved in the first rows of events. The exhibition was opened at NUACA on February 5 blessed by Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan. From the admiring glances and warm attitude of participants and passers-by it was clear that the day was made and the works were loved. While the best works of the exhibition will be awarded in the Saint Sargis Church quite soon.
