Today Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin and representatives of the “Russian Cooperation Agency” were present at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.
The visit was a cognitive, as well as the prospect of establishing and strengthening the Armenian-Russian centuries-old friendship and cooperation. Ambassador Kopirkin, accompanied by Rector Gagik Galstyan and professorial staff, first toured the university, got acquainted with the studios and laboratories, followed the lectures, and then met the students.
Welcoming the guest, Rector G. Galstyan briefly presented the activities of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, the close cooperation with leading Russian universities and companies, joint projects and achievements of our students. “Our university has a number of cooperation agreements with Kazan, Tyumen, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov, and Astrakhan Architectural and Construction Universities. Almost every year our students return awarded with diplomas, special prizes and grand prix from thecompetitions announced by the Union of Architects of Moscow” – added G. Galstyan.
The Rector emphasized the importance of the “One Belt and One Way” consortium conference of architectural universities to be held in Yerevan in September, as well as the summit of the Union of Construction Universities of the CIS and Russian Federations scheduled for September 26-27, 30 rectors of architectural and construction universities will take part in it.
Highly appreciating the centuries-old partnership and fraternal relations, Ambassador Kopirkin is of the opinion that these relations constantly need to deepen and develop. In this context, the ambassador considers important, especially the participation of youths. “This university seems to be incarnation of cooperation between two creative peoples, and active communication of students can bring these relations to a higher level,” added the ambassador, addressing the students. The latter, in their turn, talked about the Russian students, their warm attitudes. At the end of the meeting, the rector Gagik Galstyanpresented books to the ambassador.
