NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

Recently, the Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America Northeastern Delegation visited NUACA.

NUACA Acting Rector Manuk Barseghyan, Vice-Rectors of the University, Chief of the Staff, Head of Education Quality Assurance and Development Center, Deans of the Faculty of Management and Technology, and Faculty of Urban Economy and Ecology, Advisor to the Department of International Cooperation and field specialists were present at the Meeting.

During the Meeting, a report was presented on the outcomes of the business trip to the United States by the Head of NUACA Educational Quality Assurance and Development Center Varazdat Hovhannisyan, and Advisor to the Department of International Cooperation Armen Minassian, as well as the agreements reached during the meetings.

Issues related to cooperation between our University, the Association of Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America, Rutgers and Lehigh universities were discussed. The parties attached importance to the following points in particular:

• The creation of a Regional Educational Center at NUACA for the development of infrastructure, transportation and engineering project management (design and construction) education, thereby making Armenia a regional hub.
• The creation of the Center at the University will greatly contribute to the modernization of the existing academic programmes, the training of the University academic staff, and in the long run, to the solution of the existing issues of the fields of infrastructure and transport of Armenia.
• Modernization of existing infrastructures and means of transport in Armenia, preparation of field specialists and training.
• Opportunities to improve the design, management, maintenance and monitoring systems of infrastructures and means of transport in Armenia.
• Issues related to the development of materials science in the field of Construction.

All programmes will be implemented in close cooperation with the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the RA Urban Development Committee, Yerevan Municipality and local self-government bodies.
