NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIA

The IV National Scientific and Practical Conference “Reconstruction and Restoration of Architectural Heritage” (RRAH 2024) was held at St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Various issues related to the field were discussed during the Scientific Conference. From different cities of the Russian Federation, restoration architects and responsible people coordinating the field of heritage preservation and restoration presented their problems and experience in the field of preservation and use of the potential of historical and cultural heritage. The issues of training and education of restoration architects were also a subject of special discussion. From National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, Head of the Chair of Theory, History and Heritage of Architecture, PhD in Architecture and Professor Emma Harutyunyan, Doctor of Architecture and Professor Lyuba Kirakosyan, as well as Doctor of Architecture and Professor Marieta Gasparyan participated in the Scientific Conference. NUACA representatives delivered reports, where they presented the process of training restoration architects at NUACA, the experience of the architectural heritage preservation and reuse of the archaeological sites of Armenia and Artsakh, the condition of preservation and stylistic features of the historical core of Yerevan.

Within the framework of the Conference, a visit to the International Restoration Center in Rozhdestveno was organized, where an opportunity was given to get acquainted with the Center’s studios and the work being done.

 From the inviting party, the University delegation received offers for further cooperation of inter-university and restoration centers.
